WHAT IS DIABETIC GASTROPARESIS

If you are having DM for more than 10 years on BASAL BOLUS REGIMEN often
Present with HYPOGLYCEMIC ATTACKS after eating and frequent vomiting episodes.

You cannot tolerate Food very well.

Bowel sounds widely varying. 

Your one provisional diagnosis could be
DIABETIC GASTROPARESIS ( also known as Diabetic neuropathy of the stomach which prevents contractions). 

BEST TEST FOR DIAGNOSING IT?
It can be ruled out by undergoing a GASTRIC EMPTYING STUDY.

WHAT WILL WE FIND IN IT ???
If your physician your test report came POSITIVE, means there were a lot of residual CHYME / FOOD PARTICLES found in your stomach with delayed gastric emptying.

WHAT IS THE TREATMENT ?
Your physician will mostly give you tablet METOCLOPRAMIDE / ERYTHROMYCIN depending upon your test results and previous medical history.
